Barbara Wall

A Celebration of Life service for Barbara Gail “Loper” Wall was held 2 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021, at Lake Athens Baptist Church, Athens, TX, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home, Grand Saline, with Rev. Steve Pelz officiating, assisted by Rev. C.A. Middleton.
The family received friends 1 hour prior to services at the church.
A Private family gathering at the graveside followed at Woodside Cemetery in Grand Saline, TX.
Barbara Gail went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2021 after a lengthy illness. She was 84 years old. She was born in Grand Saline, TX to Jesse Perry and Grace Evelyn Loper. She was married to Herschel “Herk” Wall for 30 years before his passing.
Barbara Gail was proceeded in death by her parents and husband.
Those surviving to enjoy the memories of Barbara Gail are her daughter Kay Pelz and husband Steve of Athens, TX, her son Roland Curtis of South Carolina, and her daughter Denise Crawford and husband Kirt of Sealy, TX. Also, her brothers Joe Loper and wife Jeanette, Sammy Loper and wife Cora, and sister Sarah Oxford, all of Athens, TX; and brother Mike Loper and wife Onna of New Meadows, ID. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Amy Pelz Miller and husband Nick, Trey Pelz and wife Julie, Danielle Sanders Riddle, Megan Sanders, Brad Curtis, Jeremy Curtis, Kaylee Curtis Froerming and husband Patrick, and Brittney Curtis; several great-grandchildren that knew her as Grandmommie; and many special nieces and nephews that affectionately called her “Auntie Gail.”
Pallbearers will be Kirt Crawford, Dean Loper, Glen Loper, Tim Oxford, and Bradey Williams.
Memorial may be made to Lake Athens Baptist Church or Genesis Hospice of Athens.
