Wanda Rodgers (1940-2020)

Graveside services for Wanda Haas Rodgers, 79, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Rodgers Cemetery, with Bro. Bill Polley officiating, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rodgers passed away September 24, 2020, in Tyler. She was born October 1, 1940, to T.G. & Lois Hamm Haas, in Commerce. She spent most of her life in Grand Saline, where she graduated from GSHS, Class of 1960. Wanda was a charter member of Caney Creek Cowboy Church and very active with the Chuck Wagon Team and a member of L.A.C.E. She enjoyed volunteering at Grand Saline ISD and Fruitvale ISD when kids were in school. Wanda also worked at Moody’s in Grand Saline for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Rodgers; daughter, Lynn Lampman; brother, Paul Haas; and special friends, Wayne Meador & Peggy Meador.

Survivors include her son, James M. Rodgers Jr. and wife Karrie “Cornbread” of Grand Saline; two daughters, Lisa Windsor and Brian Blackmon of Van and Leah Wilbourn of Grand Saline; six grandchildren, Tom Morrow, Beth Deal, Chris & Jana Lampman, Amanda Clower & Debra Marable, Ruban Rodgers and Justin Hester; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.

Special thanks to the “Forever Young” Bingo Friends in Quitman for their love & friendship. Also, special thanks to Patsy Tunnell for all she has done for our mom.

The family will receive friends 10 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Rodgers Cemetery.
