Billy Koonce (1932-2020)

Services for Mr. Billy Koonce, 88, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home with Kyle White and Jeremy Harrell officiating.

Interment will be in Woodside Cemetery.

Mr. Koonce passed away September 12, 2020 in Grand Saline. He was born June 4, 1932, in Grand Saline, to Claude & Hazel Bennett Koonce. He served four years in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Billy was a member of the Grand Saline Church of Christ and had retired from the US Postal Service after over 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Claudine Koonce; three sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include his son, Douglas Koonce of Grand Saline; daughter, Claudia Koonce Bell and husband David of Argyle; two grandchildren, Jillian Bone and husband Will, and Jared Bell; one great-grandchild, Wyatt Bone; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny Wayne and Eloise Clower, of Grand Saline; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jared Bell, Will Bone, Robert Clower, Ronny Clower, Charlie Castleberry, Casey Clower, Danny Pearson, Tony Phillips and Elroy Doggett.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Grand Saline Church of Christ.

Memorials may be made to the GSISD Sports Boosters or the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at the funeral home.
