Services for Mr. Earl Ray Copeland, 79, of Grand Saline, were scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Homer Morgan officiating.
Burial was held in Creagleville Cemetery.
Mr. Copeland passed away August 30, 2020, in a Tyler hospital. He was born June 25, 1941, in Grand Saline, to Elijah & Ona Elizabeth Hare Copeland. He spent most of his life in Grand Saline where he was a member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church. He worked most of his life as a paint/body man and had also worked in the oil field. Earl Ray loved to fish. He is preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers, Richard Copeland, J.V. Copeland, O. D. Copeland, J. R. Copeland, Virgil Nelson, Jewel Copeland, Jack Copeland and R.V. Copeland; and four sisters, Ruby Nelson, Charlene Sides, Ruby Copeland and Francis Lisa Waymire.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marie Copeland of Grand Saline; two sons, James Earl Copeland of Seagoville and Rusty Copeland of Grand Saline; three daughters, Julie Ann Coker of Oklahoma, Tammy DeAnn Copeland of Oklahoma and Janice Alcalan of Grand Saline; brother, Sammy Gene Copeland and wife Mary of Grand Saline; sister, Merle Fay Schnadenberg of Grand Saline; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Randy J. Copeland, Tommy Copeland, Sammy Gene Copeland, Cody Boswell, Dalton Copeland, and David Coker.
The family received friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
