Malcolm Manns (1926-2020)

Services for Mr. Malcolm Manns, 93, Grand Saline, were scheduled for 1 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Pederson officiating.

Mr. Manns passed away March 14, 2020 in Quitman. He was born May 19, 1926, in Strawn, to Henry Paul & Kate Vernon Lewis Manns. Malcolm spent most of his life in Odessa before moving to Grand Saline a year ago. He served in the US Navy during WWII and worked as a bookeeper and foreman in the oil field industry. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Velma Courtney Manns; daughter, Patricia Scagno; brother, Henry Paul Manns; and two sisters, Anna Lewise Dana and Rosemary Davis.

Survivors include his daughter, Nancye Scott and husband Sam of Grand Saline; six grandchildren, Bethany Havert and husband David, Deanna Hopkins and husband John, Caroline Davis and husband Seth, Jessica Harwood and husband David, Jennifer Scagno and Leslie Scagno; six great-grandchildren, Madalyn Havert, Addison Hopkins, Jonathan Hopkins, Hannah Davis, Sydney Davis and Jackson Harwood; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to GSISD Library or the Grand Saline Public Library.

The family received friends 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home.
