Dixie Melton (1937-2020)

Services for Dixie Norris Melton, 82, Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, January 30, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating.
Mrs. Melton passed away January 27, 2020, in Grand Saline. She was born September 10, 1937, in Wood County, to S.T. Dick Norris and Audrey Brooke Norris. She spent her early years in Mineola, where she graduated from Mineola High School, Class of 1955. Dixie spent all of her adult life in Grand Saline where she had been a member of Sand Flat Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wildon Melton; two sisters, Jean Pearman and Billie Jean Norris; and son-in-law, Bill McDonald.
Survivors include her son, John Melton of Emory; three daughters, Debbie McDonald of Grand Saline, Rebecca Hernandez of Lindale and Lynn Melton of Athens; brother, Johnny Norris and wife Oletta of Mineola; sister, Margie Grimes and husband Edward of Tyler; fourteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Damon Bragg, Danny Pearman, David Pearman, Donald Roseman, Mike Gibb and Marc Maxfield.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services on Thursday.
