Charles Black (1927-2020)

Services for Mr. Charles Black, 92, Grand Saline, were scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating.
Interment followed in Corinth Cemetery.
Mr. Black passed away January 15, 2020 in Tyler. He was born May 29, 1927, in Sulphur Bluff to Ralph Jake & Stellean Baugh Black. Charles was raised in Sulphur Bluff, and lived in Dallas for many years before moving to Grand Saline in 1973. He loved to farm, hunt and fish. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Black was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Justice Black; daughter, Kathy Darlene Sims; brothers, Bill Black, Don Black, Gary Black, and Robert Black; sisters, Geraldine Black and Jane Black.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Blue and husband William of Grand Saline and Sherry Black and husband Mike Reid of Grand Saline; three brothers, David Black of Mabank, John Black of Mabank and Jimmy Black of Forney; sister, Rosemary Cox of Quinlan; four grandchildren, Joey Blue, Samantha Blue, Lindsey Black and Payton Black; four great-grandchildren, Tim Moyers, Destiny Moyers, Jacob Moyers and Jason Blue; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were William Blue, Joey Blue, Mike Reid, Payton Black, Tim Moyers and Rob Crawford.
The family received friends at 10:30 before the service on Saturday.
