Services for Nelma Mae Byford, 86, of Blum were scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. James Massey officiating.

Interment followed in Woodside Cemetery.

Mrs. Byford passed away October 5, 2015 in Tyler. She was born November 4, 1928 in Grand Saline to Oscar Ethrine and Callie Barker Bailey. Nelma lived her early years in Grand Saline where she attended The Bible Baptist Church. Over the last 25 years she has lived in Covington, Bulverde, and Blum. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ira Byford; daughter, Betty Ann Rogers; and two grandchildren, Bryan Byford and Stephanie Pollard.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas “Tom” Byford and wife Wanda of Blum and Kenneth Byford and wife Kim of Houston; sister, Patsy Harris of Grand Saline; two grandchildren, Charlie Byford and wife Nikki of Covington and Emily Byford of Seattle, Washington; three great-grandchildren, Judy Baxter of Ft. Worth, Matthew Massie of Ft. Worth, and John Thomas Byford of Covington; and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family received friends Thursday at 11:00 a.m. prior to the time of service.
